Technical Integrations and Interfaces

Integration Made Easy with cplace

Companies have a multitude of software systems in use: standard software as well as proprietary developments of all kinds are operated in parallel. Often these unconnected systems lead to double data storage, error-prone manual transfers, process interruptions and much more.

However, many companies are reluctant to develop interfaces. In the traditional software world, such projects are often long and difficult: Multiple iterations, internal friction between business and IT, dependence on external service providers, and many other difficulties are commonplace.

The solution: cplace enables fast, easy and automated data exchange with a wide range of existing systems.

This enables the control of information flows across software and team boundaries – flexible, agile and secure.

Numerous cplace customers have successfully networked their cplace instances with other enterprise software solutions such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Miro and ServiceNow, to name just a few. Every minute, thousands of transactions are executed across system boundaries, breaking down silo structures and enabling integrated and frictionless work.

cplace offers full integration capabilities. cplace customers can choose from a variety of options to exchange data with interfaced systems at high speed. This is where cplace’s strengths come into play: interfaces can be defined with no- and low-code alone, without IT support, and can be adapted at any time during operation.

In this way, cplace enables a revolutionary new and simple way of integrating third-party systems – as easy and smooth as customizing your personal dashboard.

REST API & Generic Interface

REST API and Generic Interfaces

REST API

REST is the leading standard for systems integration and interfacing web-enabled systems. Almost all modern web applications can exchange data via REST.

Using the cplace REST API, cplace can exchange data with any REST-enabled software solution. It is a generic solution that opens a wide range of integration possibilities with exceptional dynamics and flexibility. Using no-code and low-code means, business experts can determine how cplace interacts with other systems.

Depending on the scenario, cplace can act as a REST server or REST client.

REST-Server

With the cplace REST API, documents and data available in cplace can be made available to third party systems. Both IT and business experts can easily configure REST endpoints without any code.

REST-Client

In turn, data from REST-enabled third-party systems can be queried and integrated into custom cplace instances. Using no-code and low-code, the cplace REST API provides support for reading, creating, updating and deleting records. An existing cross-domain identity management (SCIM) preserves existing permissions at all times. Well-known cplace customers are currently using the cplace REST API successfully in automations between cplace and Tableau, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Miro and many more.

Generic Interface

The Generic Interface is suitable for data integration from existing solutions that do not support standard interfaces. It offers a wide range of integration options for importing and exporting data between cplace and third party systems. Among other things, it enables the import and export of information via data interfaces, e.g. Excel or CSV documents. In this way, integrations can be implemented easily, quickly and flexibly without complex programming.

A wide variety of formats and use cases are supported:

  • Export and import files via Excel, CSV, JSON, XML
  • Communicate with REST APIs via HTTP export with JSON and XML data
  • JDBC export of data directly to databases
  • Extensible for specific formats via pro code

One example of the use of the Generic Interface is nightly rule runs. The automated comparison of planned and actual costs between cplace and SAP can also be done via the Generic Interface to keep track of project costs. The synchronization of planning dates with external suppliers can also be done via the Generic Interface.

Enterprise Connectivity with cplace means flexible connectivity, integration and extensibility. Efficient, automated data exchange across software boundaries can be set up quickly and easily. For some scenarios and third party systems, cplace goes one step further: out-of-the-box connectors help to connect third party tools – with a simple click when needed and without lengthy software customization by a specialist department.
