What is Agile (Method)?
Agile (from the latin word agilis) means nimble or mobile. In software development, it is understood as a general term for different agile methods (frameworks), which reduce the “bureaucratic” effort and increase efficiency. Scrum is the most common agile method. An agile method are systematic procedures characterized by short feedback cycles, adaptation to changes, customer focus, and high quality standards, while at the same time focussing on the people.
An agile approach is furthermore characterized by self-organized teams as well as an iterative and incremental approach. It is managed with only little advance planning and few rules, and to adapt quickly to changes without increasing the risk of error.
In cplace, users can combine different methods. Traditional waterfall models with work distribution structures, tasks and resource assignments, interdependencies, and Gantt status and progress tracking graphs are available, as well as agile or scrum-based techniques.
