(Product) Backlog

cplace Glossary

(Product) Backlog in Agile Project Management

In general, the term backlog refers to an amount of work that has accumulated over time or a stock of tasks waiting to be processed. In project management, a backlog generally refers to project-related tasks that have yet to be completed.

The Product Backlog is a list of the prioritized requirements with estimates of a project. This list shows how complex each requirement is in comparison to each other. Usually, the product backlog is processed successively in descending order of priority. The list of priorities is continually updated during project work, which may also result in a shift of priorities.
