RALEIGH, NC, Sept. 9, 2026 — cplace, an AI-powered platform for project and portfolio management, announced the expansion of its business into the United States. The German-based company’s move builds on its track record in global industries where it has deep expertise, including automotive, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, and aerospace. cplace supports manufacturers to coordinate complex, cross-company programs with suppliers and partners across their U.S. and international operations.

Enterprise project and portfolio management is under pressure from two directions at once: programs that span more suppliers, sites and countries than ever, and a wave of new AI tools that promise to speed up how software gets built. According to PMI’s 2026 Pulse of the Profession report, 81 percent of project professionals say project complexity has increased in recent years, and teams that manage that complexity effectively are five times more likely to succeed. cplace’s platform gives enterprises a single, governed system for planning and running those programs, across classic, agile and hybrid methods, and extends that same governance to how they bring AI into the process.

cplace has spent more than a decade working with automotive manufacturers and their suppliers on complex, cross-company programs, coordinating vehicle development and production launches that span dozens of suppliers, multiple engineering disciplines and often several countries. That experience is now anchoring cplace’s expansion into the broader U.S. enterprise market. Beyond automotive, cplace also serves U.S. enterprises in pharmaceutical and life sciences, manufacturing, aerospace and energy and construction. The company will operate out of Raleigh, North Carolina, where its CEO Doug Surrett is based.

“U.S. based enterprises face the same project and portfolio management challenges as the global leaders we support in Europe,” said Doug Surrett, CEO at cplace. “‘Engineered in Germany’ stands for reliability and trust, and we are proud to continually deliver on that promise. Our experience with international customers enables us to support the demands for integrated PPM solutions that we’re seeing in the U.S. market. Our customers have already implemented our solutions on a large scale at their U.S. locations, so we are expanding our business now to support further scale within these customers and meet the growing needs of the broader U.S. market.”

cplace will be hosting its flagship conference, cplace Day, for the first time in the U.S. market. It is one of Europe’s largest events dedicated to project and portfolio management, bringing leaders from global enterprises including Daimler Truck and Hitachi Rail to share how they run complex, cross-company programs. This year’s sessions will look at how AI is changing the way enterprise software gets built. cplace Day can be attended in person or online on October 29th. Learn more and register here.
