No. cplace does not train its own AI models using customer data, nor does it share data with third parties for this purpose. cplace acts solely as an integration platform: you select and configure the AI models you use yourself. Your data remains under your control—including the contractual terms under which it is processed.
cplace does not dictate which AI provider you use. Through the integrated BYOK (Bring your own key) principle, you decide for yourself which provider to use, such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Google Vertex AI Gemini, or a fully on-premises model running on your own infrastructure. You can also use multiple providers simultaneously—for example, for different use cases or data sensitivity levels. This allows you to meet your individual data protection and compliance requirements without compromising on AI performance.
cplace AI consistently operates according to the need-to-know principle: the AI only ever sees what the respective user is already authorized to see. All existing roles and permissions in cplace apply without restriction—including for AI-powered queries and actions. Technically, it is impossible for the AI to expand user permissions. In short: If a user is not permitted to view or edit something manually, they cannot access it via the AI Companion either.
Yes. For organizations with particularly high security requirements, such as in the aerospace or pharmaceutical industries, cplace supports fully local operation via the so-called Local AI Provider. In this setup, the AI model runs on your own infrastructure without data ever leaving your network. Alternatively, a hybrid approach is also possible: different models for different data categories—depending on how sensitive the respective information is.
cplace AI is a modular suite of capabilities on the cplace platform. Some features are included in your cplace subscription, others are available as add-on licenses depending on scope and usage. Five core capabilities:

All conversations with the AI Companion are stored in your company’s cplace database—not with external AI providers. This ensures complete traceability: Who asked which question and when, what data was retrieved, and what recommendations did the AI provide? These chat histories are available for internal audits and compliance processes and are subject to the same access and security policies as all other cplace data.
