At ZF LIFETEC, a leading global manufacturer of passive safety systems for vehicles, we successfully migrated nearly 700 projects from a legacy system to cplace, laying the foundation for a platform that today supports more than 3,000 projects across our organization.

How do you bring more than 12,000 engineers, four strong commercial vehicle brands, and a landscape of legacy tools into one common way of working — without losing speed, flexibility, or the identity of each brand? At TRATON Group R&D, we took on this challenge, choosing cplace as the digital backbone that connects strategy, financial planning, timebooking, portfolio management, governance, and execution across Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus. Together with Dataciders as our implementation partner, we replaced existing legacy systems and built a scalable PPM platform in agile PI cycles — from initial GoLive to a successful international rollout.

From AI promise to productive reality
Less than a year ago, AI Builder was presented as a glimpse into the future of cplace development. Today, Hitachi Rail is already turning that vision into reality.
Following the go-live of its cplace platform in October 2025, the team explored how AI Builder could accelerate solution delivery and support their growing demand for business applications. What started as an exploratory workshop quickly evolved into a productive use case: replacing an Excel-based cost tracking process with a custom cplace solution built with AI support.
In this session, Robin Neuberger will share the team’s journey, lessons learned, and first practical results. Discover how AI Builder can support configuration and development, where it delivers value today, and how it may influence the future roadmap of cplace projects.
From screenshot to solution: How AI enables Daimler Buses to build cplace widgets in a single afternoon
For years, Daimler Buses deliberately focused on standard cplace capabilities, avoiding extensive Pro-Code customizations in favor of a maintainable and scalable platform. While this sometimes meant accepting compromises, the emergence of AI-powered widget development has fundamentally changed the equation.
Now, the AI Widget Studio changed the game. We will show how business requirements can now be transformed into working cplace solutions within hours instead of weeks. Using real examples from Product Engineering, we demonstrate how user feedback, screenshots, and simple natural language descriptions can be converted into functional widgets with the AI Widget Studio, while maintaining governance, architectural quality, and long-term maintainability.
We highlight how AI is changing not only implementation speed, but also the collaboration model between customer and implementation partner.
