cplace Joins Munich Social Day Once Again
Munich, July 3, 2024 – Taking action, from people for people. True to the motto “Des mach ma” (We’ll do it), the Social Day 2024 once again motivated numerous employees from Munich companies to engage in helping the socially disadvantaged. The cplace team registered for the seventh time to volunteer, swapping desks and computer mice for lawnmowers and paintbrushes.
This year, the team from the Munich software provider went to the Therapeutic Girls’ Home in Gauting – a Caritas youth welfare institution for girls with troubled pasts. A team of educators, psychologists, and social workers cares for nearly 50 children and adolescents around the clock here. The girls are meant to feel at home during their one and a half years spent there.
To achieve this, eleven members of the cplace team helped renovate the entrance area of the girls’ home. It is the facility’s calling card and the first thing the girls see. To maintain a good impression, various painting and gardening tasks were necessary. The volunteers mowed the lawn, weeded, and pruned trees and bushes.
Action Day as a Positive Influence – for All Involved
The Munich Social Day aims to be a sustainably impressive experience for employees. Through it, Munich companies are engaged in social and ecological efforts. This year, the team from the Munich scale-up participated again with a colorful mix of leaders, employees, and working students from various departments. The engagement on Social Day enriches not only the social institutions but also the participants themselves: They get the chance to engage with the social issues of society – even if only for a short moment.
“Social Day is important to us because it not only improves team dynamics but above all allows us to break out of our comfort zone,” explains Anke Spichale, Head of the People & Culture team. Doing good together and leaving the work computers behind broadens horizons and fosters collaboration. cplace has already participated in the Munich Action Day for the seventh time. “We are convinced that Social Day has a positive influence on all involved and that our contribution has hopefully supported and will continue to support the various institutions,” says Spichale.
At the end of the day, the cplace volunteers agreed: “We’ll keep doing this.”
